Accounting Solutions Manager


The Accounting Solutions Manager coordinates with both existing and new clients on the implementation of accounting modules within AMTdirect, as well as manages data migration projects, accounting-related product support matters and user acceptance testing requirements.

Reports to: Vice President, Professional Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage accounting-related software implementation projects, adhering to overall implementation project plans, data integration requirements, budgeting, resource management and profitability expectations as set forth by the Client Services Manager(s).
2. Consult on system and industry best practices during accounting-related implementations, serving as first level for escalation for accounting issues by/with clients.
3. Manage data integration/migration projects, including data mapping, data conversion, validation and project management, including the coordination of technical/development resources when needed.
4. Act as primary solution consultant for advanced accounting issues, including advanced technical support tickets/projects.
5. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) related to ongoing product support and new product development efforts.
6. Provide weekly updates on project status to the Client Services Manager(s) and monthly updates to the VP of Professional Services.
7. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a passion for technology, customers, project management and problem solving.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • 5+ years retail/commercial real estate/property accounting experience
  • Strong real estate property accounting and lease management knowledge
  • Extensive work experience with AP, AR, CPI and Percent Rent Calculations,
  • OPEX and CAM Reconciliations, FASB 13 Accounting and 13 Period and Accrual Accounting
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience with MRI, Yardi or other real estate lease administration systems preferred
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Travel – up to 30%
  • CPA preferred but not required


COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems, real estate/lease administration systems, Microsoft applications, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

8. Develop and manage professional service projects, including lease abstraction, lease administration, FASB consulting and software implementation services.
9. Manage assigned client accounts by determining client’s implementation success criteria, consulting on system and industry best practices during software installation, and serving as first level for escalation for issues by/with clients.
10. Manage software implementation projects by performing initial client interviews and preparing detailed project planning, data integration requirements, budgeting, resource management and profitability analyses.
11. Manage communication with clients to ensure client concerns and priorities are known to management and escalated for resolution when necessary.
12. Approve all client billings, SOWs and estimates, and provide monthly report to accounting for total billings and/or accruals.
13. Assess the need for project resources, manage resource allocation and coordinate with VP of HR and Client Team Coordinator to hire and train required resources. 14. Provides weekly updates on project status and monthly updates to the VP of Professional Services.

CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum: A Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university in Real Estate, Accounting or related field; five/plus years experience in commercial real estate property accounting and/or professional services consulting; strong project management; a combination of work and experience will be considered.
  • Desired: Strong consulting/project management/real estate accounting experience, or experience with AMTdirect or other real estate management/accounting systems preferred but not required.
  • Travel: Up to 25%


COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Possesses software/technical expertise; adept in learning new software environments; proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Project Manager. Working knowledge of real estate management or accounting systems (such as AMTdirect, MRI, Yardi, etc).
